Another Blog!

Yes, so as you can see, I'm really bad at keeping up with this stuff...

Let's see what's happened since I last blogged, 10 years ago. Well, I spend almost 2 weeks in the Detroit area for work. Got back a week ago today. Let me tell you- Detroit is not a happy place. It actually rather depressing. Job loss is very rampant, crime is horrible, and they are in a really bad situation with foreclosures because of it all. It made me sad looking around there. And then to top it off, the auto industry is tanking, which means even more job losses for that area. I guess it is the times we live in. Even with all that aside (well, except for the crime part) I would never want to live there. It's ugly, and you can go from a decent part of town to a horrible part of town in the blink of an eye. It's pretty scary. So scary in fact, that I stayed in my hotel room for the most of the weekend that I was there. On a brighter side, my co-workers and I ended up traveling a good portion of Eastern Michigan along Lake Huron and let me tell you all of that is BEAUTIFUL. I was even getting use to the cold- wearing a heavy coat and sweaters and gloves. I was a little bummed out to get back into Phoenix and it was pushing 100 degrees...yes 100 degrees two days before November- only in Phoenix... The down part is, I think I caught a cold on the plane back, or somewhere- I have been sick since then. Colds are evil, I don't wish them on anyone.

We didn't do anything for Halloween- unless waiting for kids to come to our door to give them candy counts. We didn't even really have the many kids- and now we have TONS of leftover candy- so much for all the weight I lost. When we took Max (our dog for anyone reading this that doesn't know) to the groomer's a few weeks ago, and they gave him a candy corn bandana when he was all done. So we put that on him for Halloween and let him greet all the kids at the door. That didn't go over so well, he got really excited with the first little girl, and he scared her, so she pretty much ran off. After that, I had him on the leash when we went to the door, but just the whole excitement of it all was too much for him. He ended up hiding in his kennel for most of the night.

Thanksgiving is coming up, and all of my family is going to be here :) David is getting really exciting about all of the cooking- we bought a turkey roaster on Tues so the turkey wouldn't use all the oven space, because he has about a jillion sides planned- green bean casserole, sweet potato pie casserole, rice, mashed potatos, pasta salad, and I'm sure more I've forgotten. He's even talking about making appetizers. Plus he still thinking about dessert... so to my family- come prepared to EAT for Thanksgiving :)

With Thanksgiving coming up that means Christmas is just around the corner. Usually I'm a procrastinator, but I was in Sam's Club on Monday, and they were playing Christmas music. At first it annoyed the crap out of me!!! Let's get through Thanksgiving first! GEEZ Then it put me in a holiday spirit. Now we are looking at Christmas trees, and ornaments, and starting to think about gifts. It's all fun stuff. We even had our "Christmas Cookie" sented candle burning. We still don't know what our plans are for Christmas though. We though we might have people at the house, but it looks like we might not. I'm sure we'll get that all figured out in the next few weeks.

Well, since I've posted a novel I guess I will go for now!

My First Blog

OK...so I thought I would create on of these blogger things, since I'm always on Facebook and Myspace, and never update either of them because I don't want to have to do it twice for those friends who only have one or the other. So the plan is to create this, put a link on both sites, and hopefully I'll keep this updated, so everyone knows what's going on in my life. I will warn you ahead of time though, our life is pretty boring. You'll get to hear about the mundane things like, walking and bathing our dog, and weekly grocery shopping trips. At least you'll all know I'm still alive! Look for most posts once I figure out how to use this thing...for now have a good night, and for those of you that have work/school tomorrow- I'm sorry, I'm not looking forward to getting up early either. :(
